Had a chance to check out the indie rock opera soon-to-be-classic Cyclops at Son of Semele and had a grand old time. It’s based on the only surviving Satyr play, which was a subversive play meant to undermine the more serious tragedies from a full day of theater in ancient Greece. Probably where we get the word “satire”, now that I think about it. Language is neat!
